MAGNOLIA MOMENT

I often travel ahead
of myself
with bustling busyness
of selfdom.
Missing magnificent moments
God hands me.

Like the magnolia,
God’s springtime partner.

Each bulging blossom
offers its blushing bloom
to us. As it
embraces hard branches
in compassionate pink petals.

A momentary majesty before
harsh winds and nippy nights
pound pellets of doom.

There yesterday.
Gone now.
Except in us.

"Only be careful and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live." Deuteronomy 4:9
