Once Again

Honored once again to be
immersed in a
Michigan miracle:

     Russet ferns
     chasing tan tufted tendrils

      Brown so deep it
      flows maroon

     Scarlet  flame bursts
     torching my senses

     Tall white sticks
     grasping yellow lollipops

     Steadfast pines
     chaperoning the party.

Coming over the hill
just when I think it can’t
get any more
outrageously gorgeous.

It does.
